Mi Goreng Kecap. Mie goreng is a scrumptious, traditional dish of fried noodles found throughout Indonesia (and also Malaysia). A good mie goreng is equal parts sweet, salty, and umami, and packed with fresh vegetables and tender chicken and/or shrimp. The main flavor of the noodles comes from the nasi goreng paste and the kecap manis, or Indonesian sweet soy sauce.

It is one of my favorite sauces and I look for every excuse to put it on everything. Mie Goreng is typically topped with some crispy shallots that not only add a nice crunch but incredible flavor. Place the chicken strips in a bowl, and toss with olive oil, garlic salt, and black pepper. Stir in the shallots and garlic, and cook and stir until they start to turn brown.
